If I see one of those intros with the channel name bouncing up and down with a music background I just click out of the video. If done really well an intro clip can be good, if done badly it's better not to have one. Intros are definitely not something you must have.

I think the only time shoutouts are good, are when the channel giving them genuinely likes that channel and may have used or learnt something from them. So say if you bought a new keyboard because you saw a review from a channel. Then you could say a shoutout to channel 'x', because I bought...

Try and dedicate your first few months to making the best content you can. If you get people to check out your channel now, you might not have enough content for them to subscribe for. These might be people that would have subscribed if you had more content on your channel.

I usually prefer well edited lets plays, so they might do some of the boring work "off camera" then come back the the more exciting parts but still play it through completely. So I suppose that's like a combination of both?
