I think 1000 subs was one of my main goals, also 1 million views. Not sure I'd want to make Youtube videos as a career though. I would like to create more videos and maybe help people better understand how electronics and circuits work.

Some good tips for beginners :) One thing I'd suggest is do your own thing, create new content that hasn't been made before. I see a lot of people watching larger Youtubers and seeing they gets lots of views, so they then create the exact same type of video expecting lots of views.

Some good tips, I think the equipment needed can depend quite a lot on the type of channel though. If you are doing a documentary you are going to need a really good camera, or if you are just a gaming channel you can probably do without a camera altogether. I've managed with spending $0 so far...

I'd probably be thinking there is some error in Youtube if I just suddenly hit 1 million subs :P

As far as I'm aware once the claim is lifted all revenue gained should be given to you even if the first views were while being claimed.

You could try starting off by including a friend or something in the video so that it's less awkward and more like a conversation. Other than that talk about things that really interest you and I'm sure some others will find it interesting too :)
