Uploading daily might be a bit too much as a smaller channel, try to aim for quality to grow your channel. As you grow your channel larger, then you can put out more content.

A lot of them are probably busy making videos :D I do see some that come in time to time who are making a comfortable living off youtube. The ones that do are usually spending 60+ hours a week creating videos so it's not necessarily and easy thing to do.
