Hello, I own and operate the community channel "iBlindBat".

On January 5th of 2016, I received my first copyright strike. A minimal use of the claimant’s gameplay was used in the video. However, when the video initially went public, I received positive comments from the claimant about the video, not showing me any reason to take it down. An attempt to get the claimant to retract this claim has been made, but to no avail. This first claimant has not been using his online alias' social media accounts for a long time leaving me no way to contact them, anymore.

On May 19th of 2016, I received another copyright claim which I have reason to believe is also a false flagging. My reasoning goes as follows - The claimant has never had any affiliation with my channel and has not reached out to me about any problems with my video(s), the director whose video was taken down off my channel has never had any affiliation with the claimant, and finally, the original creator of this video's thumbnail has never had any affiliation with the claimant.

Both of these claims were detected/reported manually.

I have been apart of Freedom!'s network for over a year and 6 months. I have attempted to contact Freedom! support about this and have received zero help or guidance. The first agent I was assigned to said "The best way is to send a follow-up message to the claimant and wait for his/her reply because we need to know if he/she can cooperate with us. :)" and redirected me to another agent/department on June 1st. Surprise surprise, the agent has not gave me anymore updates (as I was promised) nor has responded to me asking to be kept in the loop.

Where do I go from here? I have heard about networks of fellow YouTubers helping and clearing up these kinds of problems in the past (even within 24 hours!) but I've been here, as a sitting duck, for over 3 weeks.

Thanks for reading, it's much appreciated.

Firstly, they are not strikes, they are just content id claims, they do not effect your channel in the same way a strike would.

Secondly, unfortunately it is your responsibility to manage your own videos in regards to copyrighted content. If they are false claims then you simply dispute them with the reasons for why it is a false claim.

The only networks that will step in to help their partners are the very exclusive ones or they will help the very large channels. Then again, most will not do anything in regards to a claim, they will however help in the case of a strike (which yours are not)

Hope that clears things up.

Well Mr. Moderator, you appear to be incorrect in all your points.

They are most certainly strikes, otherwise my monetization wouldn't be suspended now would it?

Also, I don't consider FullScreen an exclusive network nor do I consider 80k a very large channel. (An example of someone under FullScreen who's been able to resolve this through them)

Of course it is my responsibility, and I've kept up to it, why else would I have false in the title of this thread? My director had no affiliation with the dude and when compared, the video(s) in question had no correlation to him.

I don't appreciate the ignorance you're bringing to my thread when I'm seeking real help.

Could you show me a screenshot of the 'Strike'.

I did not bring any wrong information, I just went off the information that you gave which were mixed messages, you talk about the strikes in the way that claims are dealt with and not strikes, so I assumed (which I guess I shouldn't have) that you meant claims, especially as you refer to them as both strikes and claims at the same time, they can only be one or the other.

Using the dispute feature that YouTube offers you is very effective and false DMCAs are illegal, so I doubt anyone making a false DMCA will continue to claim it once legal action is proposed.

No need to get so defensive when I am trying to help you.

Apologies for my words before, I'm just sick and tired of being treated like a clueless moron. My only worry with submitting a counter-notification is that my real information must be handed out to the claimant, which may easily be used for malicious purposes.

I've been trying to find ways around using YouTube's system so I can avoid spreading information that may affect and locate me in the real world.

No worries. Can you link a screenshot of it though just to help me clarify. You have done all you can with Freedom! at the moment, support can sometimes take a while to respond unfortunately.

Yeah I know what you mean about the personal info, it is frustrating but is also part of the legal process, as a false DMCA is illegal it can lead to prosecution for the person that made it, so real names are required.
