It takes a while to update, long as everything on youtube if fine then you should be good :)

You can contact the support team to request to be verified, it's usually quite hard to get your channel verified though. Usually you need 10k+ subs as well as a few other factors. See http://freedom2.support.tm/customer/en/portal/articles/2226261-how-can-i-get-verified-on-youtube-

Sometimes original creators will allow others to use their work (he may have also gained their permission), however if this is not the case this may be taken down. I'd suggest not to get too caught up with others are doing, just make sure that when you are uploading that you are following the rules.

You can still be in a sub-network, other networks have been removing subnetworks but Freedom is keeping them.

Also you need to have a least 1 video uploaded and public before you can be accepted.
