It actually can if support unlinks you manually. When you clink 'request to unlink', it states this: Meaning if they don't unlink you manually, it will automatically happen after 30 days. They can also reject your request apparently.

We don't because we wouldn't actually watch each other's content. Why would you want 100k subs and 100 views per video? Terrible idea. The reason people subscribe is because they want to see more content. Sub 4 sub is an insult to good content creators.

Agreed, collaborations are not mandatory. I don't even recommend them before you have several thousand subscribers. There's very little upside to collaboration between two people who have a few hundred subs. Sure, you might get a slightly more entertaining video, but if that's the case then...
