I'm working on this, too. I'm trying to start uploading videos every Thursday/Friday rather than a daily thing, so at least I have plenty of time to plan, record, and edit. A weekly schedule also gives subscribers something to look forward from your channel

There's no "right" way to do it, but my personal favorite is putting some funny, eye-catching title, followed by what the video is covering. For example, I titled my latest vlog: 3 Weirdly Adorable Buys! | Cracker Barrel Haul

I used to consider vlogs just recording your daily life, but when I stopped to think about it, I realized that the videos where I pick a topic and talk straight to the camera about them should be considered a vlog, too! : )

I use photoshop CS2 and a thumbnail template that I downloaded a while back. Includes a bunch of optional layers, text, etc. and then I just get creative with it. It's been pretty helpful.
