Hey everyone,
Just thought I would share with you all my experience from last night.
As a screen media student I have been working with cameras and radio gear as part of my course. Last night was my first night of work experience and I was actually in control of one of the cameras used during a live TV show.
If anyone form Australia is on here and can access channel 31 on their, check out the show 1700. It was so much fun working there and I will be getting to go back every Thursday night.
They work under the SYN network (student youth network) and allow practical experience for anyone under 25.
I will be posting regularly my experience on the show for anyone who is interested and for anyone who would like to talk about the behind the scenes aspect of a live television show.
Overall I had a great time and was welcomed by a friendly crew. Each week we swap roles which is a good way to learn.
I had so much fun and it was a great environment for me to learn about the technical side of television and actually get to help out with a show.
If anyone ever gets the opportunity to work on a TV show for experience, I say take it, because you will learn so much and come out with a whole new set of skills.
