So I have a dilemma. When I record with my Blue Yeti microphone I get a lot of noise as a result of me hitting the keys on my keyboard. An example can be heard in one of my videos:

Just listen to my commentary once the game gets going, you hear that awful rumbling in the background? That's me hitting the keys on my keyboard on my laptop. Now so far I can tell that I either need a shock mount or a boom stand. The boom stand is cheaper, as in, I can afford it. But I don't know if the boom stand will be enough or if I will need the shock mount primarily. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

Assuming your mic is directly sitting on your desk then vibration is clearly your problem and a arm and or shock mount will definitely fix that up for you. I highly recommend the arm because you won't have to change the rubber bands on the shock mount every few months. Also play with your microphone sensitivity and capture pattern. If you make sure its only capturing the front then positioning it on a arm and keeping it in front and above of your keyboard will help with any sound the keyboard itself may make. As someone who owns a mechanical Razer keyboard I know your struggle all too well.

Yeah if your yeti is on the desk there's your problem. Get a boom stand if you can and try and get one with a stand and not a desk snap on because then the vibration will run up the desk snap on stand
