In the "copyright claim is not valid" page, I don't know what I am supposed to choose for a claim made on one of my Happy Wheels videos by a YouTube channel called "PeterChaoGames". YouTube really needs to add an option that someone has falsely claimed the video.

Hey @Indurok ,

It depends on WHY you are disputing the claim? Are you claiming that you have the right to upload the content etc etc.
Or are you claiming on the basis of fair use?

There is an option "dispute" on almost all claims made by youtube!

My reason for disputing the claim is that this YouTuber does not own Happy Wheels, and they are claiming my video. But the problem is that YouTube doesn't have "false claims" as a reason to dispute.

And they have been claiming other people's videos, if you look at the discussion section of their page.

If the claim was false you should click the option that you have permission from the content owner (Happy Wheels) to upload the content. If the creator of Happy wheels posted that the game can monotized on a forum or something you should have sufficient proof!

Hope this helps :)

He actually doesn't have it written on his site that Let's Plays are allowed, but he has shared plenty of videos on Twitter, so he seems to be perfectly okay with it. But that's just the problem. If I'm expected to link to somewhere where it says it's allowed, then I can't choose the option that says I have permission.

Hmm i did some research for you:

https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/monetization-on-youtube/HioED5-7DWE

Technically the owner never gave permission to people to use his game and make money off it from YouTube. However some pretty big YouTubers are doing it (Markiplier for example) and i doubt he would risk a copyright strike.

Is this the channel that claimed your video?
It does also seem like the kind of game that could get a lot of attention just from let's plays, seeing as there is no story to spoil. It's all just death and destruction, and custom levels and all that.

Yes, that is the channel. But I also came across his Twitter and found a post where he wrote, "To everybody who is getting random copyright claims from me, I'm getting to the bottom of it. Hang tight." I'm not sure if it's believable that claims would just randomly happen. I mean, I know the content ID system is, as they say, flawed, but this doesn't seem like a thing that can just happen.
