What is playlist for playlist?

I've seen people on the collab section asking to do playlist for playlist but what actually is playlist for playlist? I've only started to see it recently so I have no clue what it is. Of course I know it's probably something to do with sharing playlists but I mean what is it in more detail.

Ok I don't think I like it, basically I upload videos and they also go on another persons channel every time I upload a new one. So basically it would give them no reason to go to my channel if the videos are already on that other persons channel. Is there is any benefit to that then can someone tell me because it seems stupid to me.

The only benefit to this is exposure. So for example, you're a gaming channel and you have a buddy that does gaming videos as well, you add their playlist to pop up on your channel if viewers (especially new viewers) are looking for more gaming content. It's simpler than a shoutout, if I had to describe it that way.
A shoutout feels more intimate or personal in my opinion, then viewers can see how excited you are about your buddy's channel.
It's all a matter of opinion/preference though.

I feel like playlist-4-playlist is something that is great if you're a heavy collaborator with that person, like Vanoss with Delirious, but doing it with random people just for the exposure is wrong. If you want people to gaze upon your channel through another, perhaps you could request being added to the special section on the side of their channel where they put their collaborators and/or favorite channels after you personally work with them on a project.

Otherwise if your channel has no connection to theirs, why would anyone want to go to your channel?

I don't generally collaborate with anyone, so I just keep my favorite channels on the side and that gives them that little bit of exposure when the odd person does end up on my channel page, which is rare for a channel my size, it's honestly mostly me on there.
