Personally I find it ridiculous that they basically want to copyright and TM the word "REACT" that's bs. Im not really a fan of react channels tbh but it just shows how greedy these dudes are. They basically want to make money off others peoples react videos because they think they were the first ones on youtube to come up with that idea XD. I mean they basically do the same thing they show people a video ask for there opinion then edit the vid. A lot of people on youtube have been abusing the copyright strike which is making youtube a big mess.

They're just shedding subscribers that would've left eventually anyways. Get rid of the subscriber inflation in the fastest way possible.

What they did is attempt to add a trademark to "React" as a business name, not a video name or a part of a channel name, but as a business, for the purpose of preserving the name in case some other business with the same name were to get big and swallow up their name so they couldn't use it. It isn't supposed to have any effect on other videos on YouTube but the copyright system on YouTube is bugged to begin with when new things show up.
I think if it was something longer than "React" people wouldn't mind, but it's the simplicity of the name being trademarked that is making people agitated.

Out of everything they should be getting copyright strikes for using someone else's video but its fair use since they provide commentary but not just with this incident but youtube is going downhill with many mcn abusing the copyright strike.

Its ridiculous tbh they say thats not exactly what they were going to do but lets be honest thats exactly what they intended to do trademark the word "REACT" then flag or sue anyone that uses that word. I didn't realize you were allowed to trade mark words. I can understand with a character like batman or copyrighting a logo. Although I cant wait for their next episode react to fine bros losing over 1 million subs in less than a day XD.

So after reading this post I went over to the Fine Bros channel looking for the video where they made the React World announcement. I found that video, and this one as well, where they are explaining themselves.

I saw that video as well (the update one). Even though they explained it, how they did it makes me feel like they are really pushing this thing no matter what. I don't know if it will turn out good or bad but the majority of the people is reacting negatively to what they are proposing. They have already lost a thousand subs in a day. I saw the subs count decrease :|

I don't really care for them or those style of videos because you never know if the user is 'hamming' it up for the camera. That aside, I saw the update video... I thought "oh this is genuine" for the first 10 seconds until I noticed the guy on the right reading from a teleprompter xD I onno, call me strange but I wouldn't teleprompter an apology

With that being said I feel that them trying to make their channel into a corporation is going to lead to a lot of videos or channels going down due to the key words they use in their titles.

People have a right to be upset with them they are trying to trademark the word "React," they are acting like they were the only ones on youtube to come up with the idea of reacting to videos. Which people have been doing on youtube way before they did. They are trying to take down competition then they have the nerve to ask people to join their crappy network and make money off you while you get nothing. Only now they are offering rev shares which is peanuts compared to what most networks like freedom offer. F**K THEM lamebros.

Thats what they are doing there have been plenty of people on youtube whose channels were even terminated because they had a reaction video. Youtube is really going downhill because of greedy people like them. Nothing wrong with trying to make money online but when trying to make money off others and they get nothing is something else.
