so im just curious as to if theres any tv savy guys out there, but anyway im in the markte for a new tv and i came across two different tvs one is lg 1080p smart tv and i know its a good brand considering i have a lg tv right now but its like eight years old and the other tv is a insignia 4k tv and ive heard of insignia but ive never actually seen it in action. so anyway i feel like this tv is like new off the market or something cause theres no reviews for it and i cant really find any anywhere else. should i go for a 4k tv from a brand that could be good or should i go with a brand i trust and go for 1080

Insignia is Best Buy's house brand, like how Great Value is to Wal-mart. Insignia is more of a low-end brand, which is why at 1080p lg and a 4k insignia might be similarly priced. The size of the screen matters as well as how far you will be away from the screen. These determine whether or not you would be able to see the difference between 1080p and 4k can hardly be told apart. isthisretina.com is a great utility for helping with this.

Hmm i took a look at that sight but i quite dont really understand. with the new tv i get i will be hanging it on the wall, and it'll be above my setup so it'll be above when im at my desk but in my bed ill be at least twelve feet away. but since i spend most of my time being at my desk my view distance isnt quite far. im just stuck in this decision becasue idk if i should just save up for a good end brand 4k or just go with the low end or the lg

It's not like Insignia is that bad of a brand, my grandma has 2 tvs by Insignia and hasn't had any issues. Look up reviews of each model on youtube, find about any issues they might have before you decide.
