Yes I did! I bought an elgato capture card today for £108 from amazon! I'm pretty excited as I've had my eye on it for a while and I've actually spent all of this months wages on it but oh well! It will be worth it right?
Everytime I get something like this, I feel like I'm finally beginning to move up in the world do you know what I mean?
Ah anyway... Now I can finally record xbox and playstation! And yes I will be doing an unboxing video :D
Who else has an elgato?
How easy/hard do you find it to use?
Do you like it or do you think there are better ones out there?
If you don't have one then what do you use to record gaming videos?
What games would you like to see me play? ;)

I do have an Elgato, but I end up not using it and get Avermedia Live Gamer Extreme. Why? Because I can just play using my computer without hooking it up on my TV. There is no delay...

And for recording your Playstation 3 and 4, you might want to get HDMI splitter. PS3 or PS4 got this HDCPP that blocks recording of your PS3 or PS4. Hope that helps..

Also, if you have Pokemon XYZ or Pokemon ORAS maybe we could do collab.

The reason I don't do PC gaming is because I don't have room for a PC and I cannot afford and personally I do enjoy console gaming.. There's just something about it
And as for PS3/PS4 I do not own those consoles, I just have xbox right now and the only reason I'd ever do Playstation would be for the old PS1/PS2 games as the emulator wont work for me and like I said I can't afford a PC so even if it did work it would be extremely bad on my current laptop

Then you do not need an HDMI Splitter. The Composite cable will just work fine with the Elgato. =3

I use the Elgato to record both my playstaion and xbox... i found it pretty easy to use if your gonna do com over gameplay then personally i would suggest when setting it up have the commentary file save as a seperate file just incase you wanna do some tweeking, and getting the balance of game volume and commentary volume takes a bit just to get that perfect spot (each person has different preferences)

you'll need to download the software from the elgato site but its all simple enough it gives a card thingy telling you everything you need to know, the only problem i ran into when my elgato arrived (bought from amazon also) was that when i go to record my xbox (360) for some bizarre reason i have to set it saying im recording Xbox One...

Yeah it works fine :3 Took me a while to figure it all out with the software, just need a USB mic now then all I need to do is save up for a better PC :)
As for games, I love zombie games mostly :D Also open world games, I love roaming and exploring I'm also a huge fan of the Assassins Creed and Gears of War series :D

Thanks for the tips! Thats actually a good idea saving the commentary separate, I didn't really think of it that way.. But yeah I guess I need to get a USB mic before I do that anyway, I could use my USB headset but then I can't here the game audio as it is a little delayed on the software but hopefully I'll fix it when I've played around with it a bit more as I've fixed the serious lag already :)

Yeah i first tried using my headset at first, then i tried the built-in mic of my laptop because well the cheaper i was able to do that the better..

Then i got my current USB mic what is great and it was only like £39.99 from Maplin Electronics i'm sure they have store in England aswell, dont think its just a Scottish store.. they also sell the yetis and snowballs but tbh i dont have over £100 to pay for a microphone and the prosound that i got has great quality and really sturdy so wont brake if it falls (i know that because i have knocked it over and my cats have gotten to it and pushed it over lol)

Yeah my headset works in my computer but like I said, I can't hear the game because of delay, I'd use the built in mic but its terrible quality :( and yeah we have Maplin here in England :) but I think I'll stick to amazon for now, they have a snowball mic I want for £60 but I think its on offer right now and its between £20 - £40 I can't exactly remember

As for USB Microphone, you should save up for a Blue Yeti. It will give you a very good voice quality.

Yep I hope it stays down in price until I get paid which will be March 18th >.< If worse comes to worse then I'll have to bank my savings before then and use that which I really don't wanna do... But yeah it takes time to get set up and I'm willing to wait if it will all be worth it :D
