That is because the advertise yourself section gets flood by people who only advertise and only a handfull is focussed on the social part.
I personally am not interested in people who only advertise. The ones that are social and engage in discussions on the other hand is where i look at video's as i after a set smount of time you get to know them

I completely agree with this, I think Freedom could do with instigating a system whereby people are rewarded for watching and giving feedback on other peoples content. I, like Twilight Prinze set some time out to watch other peoples content, and them being social is one of the things I look at before I go to their channels.
