I've been using a Blue Snowball for a few years now. And for that entire time, I've dealt with constant challenges with low audio volume when recording. I've often had to ramp up volume in the editing process just to compensate. Is there something I'm missing here. Have any of you dealt with this issue? If so, how did you overcome it?
The same issue also occurs during Skype calls with the same mic. I always come off way too quiet, even though I'm practically shouting.
One thing to note, my mic is generally off to the left of my monitor. I need to sit very close to my monitor to see what's going on, due solely to the fact that I'm severely visually impaired/legally blind (take your pick). So is that the problem? Do you guys have any suggestions how I might be able to resolve this? Furthermore, is there any software out there that helps to boost microphone recording volume so that I don't have to constantly ramp it up when editing and deal with low volumes during Skype calls?
I would greatly appreciate any help you guys can offer. I've already maxed out mic volume settings within Windows, to little effect.
