Okay, scenario. You shoot for four days. You spend an accumulated 10 hours in post production. You put your heart into a project. For a handful of views.

Does anyone else... get legitimately discouraged doing Youtube from time to time? I know it happens to me, only when I put out things I've really tried on. We do let's plays, sure, those take work but like.. decent sized productions getting no attention kinda.. really makes it hard to feel like my work is going anywhere. Anyone relate?

I can relate, I've been doing YouTube for a year and 2 or 3 months ago I just started to get exposure. I don't know how it works, people talk about SEO but to me it's just plain luck. If you start to get bored or stale, just try new things. I'm starting to put a face cam on my let's plays :)

We've been doing let's play for a while, and we've just in the last few month started trying to do skits at a fairly decent quality (I'm teaching myself most of the programs as I go along, I think I'm improving with time).

YouTube's super saturated. Everyone knows that. It takes a lot more work than blood, sweat, and tears, unfortunately, to get noticed by the rest of the world. But! If you continue to work out, keep a positive outlook, I'm sure things will turn out for the better. :)

I know how discouraging YouTube can be at times, but we all start somewhere! If you get one view or 1000, you've still managed to entertain someone. Think about it, someone takes time out of THEIR day to watch your creation! That's a success in itself! It sounds like you've enjoyed the outcome of your projects as well, so in the end, if you're happy with yourself and even what you've made, that's a great since of accomplishment. Don't give up, buddy. Enjoy yourself and try not to worry too much on the numbers.

I feel this way all the time. I have been making a video a week for almost the past year, I think I have only missed one week, and I only have 24 subscribers. I get kind of upset about it all the time. I just keep my goals in mind, and even on the weeks that I really don't feel like posting anything I still push through and make a video.
