GameStop COO Tony Bartel was asked if one day it might be possible for GameStop's famous buy/sell/trade model to extend to digital games.
"We've had discussions with the platform-holders and publishers," he said. "It is much more difficult than on the physical side of the business. There are some significant barriers to that happening that would have to be removed. We don't see it on a lot of roadmaps in terms of development right now."
Gamestop eventually will journey into reselling back digital content. Being able to have a program such as a one similar to Gamestop's would be beneficial to all gamers who purchase games (At a higher retial price) on digital stores. However it could be a while before companies are willing to play ball.
