Does the amount of subscribers on ones channel determine whether you'll subscribe to them?

Channels that are similar
Channels that have a lot of subscribers or that create quality content
Channels of freedom partners I collaborate with
Channels of people I help out and help me out on the forums
Channels that chat and engage with me on Twitter
Channels that comment on my videos
Channels that are small and growing fast
Channels of my friends
And more

Honestly, The subscriber count don't mean anything to me!

So many people ONLY subscribe to the biggest ones just because their big & famous.

If only more people gave smaller channels a chance then maybe it would not be such a struggle to go anywhere on Youtube

Not at all, I tend to sub to channels I find interesting! As I and others here know the struggle of getting decent or the best equipment. Sometimes you just have your personality and the topic of choice to go on, I've subbed to people that have crappy mics, just because what they speak of is interesting!

So to answer your question, no. I do not sub just because tens, hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands, of subs sub to them as well. As a viewer I have my preferences and choose to exercise my ability to sub to those I like.

Sub totals definitely influence me... Because when I see some channel with 128 subs making studio quality content.. I generally believe its stolen which it usually is and I completely avoid the channel. Generally in search I won't even consider clicking on a video from a channel that doesn't have more than 1k subs unless its the only thing available.

I know this sounds bad but i bet half of the people that said that dont actually watch small youtubers. most people jump on the bandwagon lets face it our society is based on numbers!

To me sub count doesn't really matter, it's all about the content and if I like it.
