Solved Custom ID

Hey guys , I need help
I have made a custom ID more than year ago , if I type youtube.com/hfsurvivalschool it take me to my channel but when I search for my channel and go on it's page the id on the top is the one with letters and numbers not the custom one , how can i fix this?

This sounds weird, are you sure you changed your custom ID or your redirection link?

Ok so here is what I managed to find about this. When you create a custom ID it just gives your viewers another way to find your channel, as they can either use the random numbers / letters that are autogenerated when you create your channel or your custom ID. The random numbers is what is called your ID based URL and will always show when you view your channel, as far as I can tell, as for your custom ID this just serves as a redirect to your channel.

For the custom ID to show you must get the channel using the www.youtube.com/c/[username] url and no others. When you set a custom ID Youtube actually provides 3 redirects to your channel which I have noted below
The classical random number/ letters url
The youtube.com/c/ then your username url, which will then display the custom url in the address bar
And finally the youtube.com/ username url which again will show your customer url in the address bar

Please note that the url that you see will change back to the random number/ letter when you move from your Youtube main page, so that could be what you are seeing. Hope this helps
