So as of the past week or so, I keep on getting these (what I would call) random copyright claims on my videos from "Yoshimoto Kogyo Co., LTD.", but I have absolutely no clue what company that is/does, what exactly they're copyrighting from my videos, nor why they suddenly started to copyright my materiel (even if the videos are unlisted, they still somehow manage to do so?)

Some background: I'm a Super Smash Bros. streamer, so all of my footage is of SSB. I don't know if Nintendo is going through them to get their money or whatnot, but it's somewhat annoying.

Does anyone have any advice as to why this suddenly started? And even though I am recording game footage (with overlays and commentary), is there any way to file a dispute to overturn these claims if they are unwarranted/wrong?

Thanks for reading/input! c:

Hey

It could be a false flag as a lot of companies try to claim for videos hoping the content creator doesn't dispute it. If you have overlays and commentary etc then it is classed as educational and can then come under fair usage. But the problem is if it is to do with Nintendo then there policy of using their games are very strict and you have to go through them and share the revenue from your videos with them. But if it was Nintendo then the claim would show their name not Yoshimoto Kogyo Co., LTD

Well, I haven't had a problem with Nintendo claiming my videos in quite some time and the official Nintendo channel with its revenue split doesn't allow for Smash to be monetized. Is there any way to file disputes towards this company that keeps claiming my videos (which today they went back ~4 months) since it doesn't seem like they actually have any right to do so?

Like PG UK say you can try talk with Nintendo and explain what happen and why take the flag down and make sure you have fair use on the video like commentary.
