Im glad i could help and yeah a dedicated SSD (120gb) to dedicate recording on is what I did then eventually got a 500gb SSD for the main OS. once reinstalled and the drivers are on create a backup to a new partition.

Is there any drivers you might have updated recently or installed any new programs? things as simple as a disk clean and a defrag can help with lag. I personally would use a spare HD and install windows fresh, see if it's down to hardware or whatever is on your original HD. And give the fans /...

I think this is a vital subject and I've found myself worrying about my own commentary as well, I recently purchased a new microphone (condenser) which has changed the quality of my voice and the way I sound but I find it more harder to plan a good commentary write up and speak freely on them...
