I do everything in my power to prevent it either way because I don't like how they are able to claim entire videos for what might only be 10 - 15 seconds of their music.

I find the best way to deal with it is to turn off the radios as quickly as you can. At least the ones that you can. In most cases it will not be long enough to end up with a claim. The one issue that I am going to really need to be on the look out for is those dang radios that play music. You can't turn them off in the menu and the songs will get claimed.
