I hit 100 subs about 3-4 weeks ago and it felt great! I started uploading in 2012 but I wasn't always consistent (I'd stop for 6+ months) but I got serious about 14 months ago and joined DropbackTV 7 months ago and I'm loving it!

They aren't going to put work into you if you don't put work into them. Be active on forums and in the comment sections of videos. Freedom! isn't going to do your work for you.

Just ignore them. They're doing it for the attention. If you don't give them what they want they'll go somewhere else.

I have an external harddrive for all of my videos that I upload. I do Let's Plays so I keep all the videos until the LP is over then I delete the videos.

I agree with what is said above. You don't want to be seen as someone who is only there to advertise. You want to seem like someone who is part of the community.

Freedom doesn't really grow your channel. Freedom gives you the tools to improve you and your channel so that views and subs will come.

If you're in it for the number you're doing it all wrong. You have to love what you do. If you love what you do then everything will come naturally.

Channel trailers are a must nowadays so I suggest making one! I personally don't like video intros. I don't want to watch a 30 second ad and then wait another 10-15 seconds to start watching the video I clicked on.

When you said intro did you mean an intro for the videos or a channel trailer?

You have to enjoy making the Let's Plays. It'll make them better to watch. Viewers will be able to tell if you are having fun. If it feels like a chore to record than you shouldn't record at that time.

Just using these forums have helped me so much. I notice that when I'm inactive for a while my growth slows a bit but when I come back and get active again I grow again!
