I don't really spend over half an hour during the week. On weekends I spend about an hour watch time and around two hours working on the channel.

If you have a Mac then upgrade to Yosemite if you haven't done so and use quick time player to record. Quick time also allows recent iOS 8 devices to be plugged into the Mac and you can record their screen. There is a tutorial on our channel.

Sony Vegas and premiere are pretty competitive in my opinion but if you are willing to step it up a notch you can invest in Vegas, but if your only editing YouTube videos I believe it's safe to stay with premiere.

I may use final cut but I at one stage have tried both pieces of software and premiere makes Sony look like iMovie. I agree with you.

I use final cut, instead of saving my videos in the bulky pro rest format I save them as h.240 or whatever. This way they are encoded for web and it cuts the upload time in half. When I save them in this format they are usually about 200 mb so quite small. I keep them on my Mac for about a month...

It depends on what you feel comfortable. However, I'd pick an iPhone. If you use a Mac to make your YouTube content then get an iPhone, if you use Windows that it doesn't really matter.
