I know that feel! Haha. It happens to everyone, so don't feel too bad about it. This is nothing that I can really control, but if I forget the upload a thumbnail for my video, YouTube manages to find the ugliest picture of me and use it as it's main thumb.

I guess I'm luckier.. A 30 minute video would probably take me about 15-20 minutes to upload, if less!

Like with @Phil Kidd said, it depends on what you wanna do. Is your main focus your face? Then invest in a nice webcam or camcorder. If you wanna do podcast related stuff or you talk a lot, then get a nice microphone. Just depends on where your priorities are.
