Vlog basically is a video blog. To me, a vlog is a video posted on Youtube (or any other social media) where you show the things that happens on a specific day, for example if you're on vacation, or visiting a friend. I don't consider reviews (of games, movies or books) as vlogs.

Best decision you've made. Some tips: Try to make thumbnails for your video (if you're partnered with Youtube). It doesn't need to be an amazing thumbnail, something simple is fine too. Free software I'd recommend is Gimp. It's free and pretty simple to use. Try to add more Tags in your video...

It is absolute an amazing idea. But I don't read forums on my mobile phone, because the screen is too small, so I would probably not use it myself, but there are more people on this planet who would definitely want a Freedom Forum Mobile App! (btw. Nice spoiler!)

I use Adobe Photoshop CS6. It has never let me down, but it's not free. A FREE alternative is Gimp. I used it a while ago.

Dude I completely agree with you.. I think you can ask somebody to subscribe to your channel, but only if you're honest. So no fake promotion, like: "WANT TO KNOW HOW TO GROW ON YOUTUBE FAST!? CHECK OUT MY CHANNEL!" blah blah blah...
