Hey guys I'm a new youtuber and I need to know what to talk about when I'm playing games. How to commentate and how to speak to my viewers. How do I do this.
This is a great question, and it's good that you're reaching out for advice; this shows initiative and drive. Speaking while you're recording takes some time to get used to, but becomes really comfortable after you have had some practice. If you can be clever and funny that is a bonus. Always be reacting to what you are experiencing in the game, explain what you're doing whenever possible. Engage your audience with questions and advice about the game. Be yourself. You should spend several hours, if you can, watching some other let's plays and gaming videos that are out there; take note of which ones get more views and who has become popular and learn from their experiences. Good luck to you, Nicholas!

Thank you so much, would you like to check out my channel and see what I have so far.
Your commentary seems a little more confident when you do not have face cam on. Your videos do get better progressively each one I like a little more than the last one before it, so you're headed in a great direction. If you don't feel comfortable with the camera yet, it's okay to take some more time before it's a regular thing. Do whatever makes you the most comfortable and happy, because your viewers will feel what you're feeling.

I agree with Ashley.

Getting used to talking to your camera can take some time to learn. You can always pretend that the webcam / mic is just your friend and you're talking to your friend about the game. Also, you could probably do some research on topics you can talk about. From the video game to the developers to asking your viewers what they like about the game, and then kind of just go from there! You can also talk about what's going on in the video game, too. Sometimes I'll just voice what my thought process is during the game.

In Scotland we have a skill known as talking Sh*te. If you can master this skill then you won't have to worry about it any more. Over time you'll just learn how talk about random stuff. Refer to other videos or series you're doing. Starting off videos by recording them with your friends is a good way to learn how to do it. When your recording you'll just feel like you're recording with your friends.
