How to properly use twitter

How do you properly use twitter to promote your channel or videos? I have never used twitter before I started doing youtube and I am pretty clueless to it lol. I mean I have 5 followers and I tweet every time I make a video and use proper hashtags, but it doesn't seem to really do much?

Twitter is something that will grow over time. I use twitter too and noticed that it is best to see it as a Forum. Connect and socialize with others, follow people or companies that pick your interest, comment on tweets, post some things in between with proper hashtags and then eventually you will notice more followers wich will also be good for your channel

I had the same thing in the beginning. I started out with 2 followers now a while later i have 59 so keep dedicated and it will pay off in time

As the others have said you have to connect with others, talk to people, be active and engaging. You will find thousands of youtubers on there constantly just spamming vids and ignoring each other. You have to sift through that with correct tags about your videos and actively engage people who talk to you or are alive on the twits

I find commenting on what is currently trending helps too. I would recommend only commenting though if it interests you, not just to get followers. Also, sharing stories and articles that are also interesting along with using hash tags can go a very long way.
