Freedom looks like a great partner for my small channel. But I have a few questions, at the moment I don't care where my revenue goes (its not much). Q1 Can freedom deny my request to leave? Q2 Is freedom gonna stick their name in my username like some networks do (like VEVO)? If freedom thinks one of my videos suck or has bad quality do they have the right to remove it. The youtube terms of use states that Freedom will have full control over my channel. And last but not least will Freedom advertise my channel or do I have to pay them to do that.
Hey there, I think I can help with a few of your questions. Having been with Freedom for almost a year, I have a decent idea of what it's like to be a partner.
1. They cannot deny your request to unlink. Remember though, you will only be unlinked 30 days
after your request to leave.
2. They will not do anything to your username. In fact, they won't even touch your channel info or settings at all. That's yours completely.
3. They will never remove or delete your videos, no matter how crappy they are. I've never heard of this happening.
4. As far as control goes, I've only seen this exerted when someone has copyright infringement issues, and Freedom steps in and gets their channel either unlinked immediately and/or contacts YouTube to have the channel shut down.
5. Don't count on Freedom (or any network) to advertise your channel if you're a small or medium sized channel. They might give you a retweet if they like a video, but their promotional power is pretty lackluster. Most people who are subscribed to Freedom or follow their social media are fellow partners, who don't engage too much in other channels' content. Like you, they also want to get promoted, but it's kind of hard to do with hundreds of thousands of partnered channels.
Freedom gives you the tools and advice to help you grow your channel, but they will not actively do it for you. This is on your shoulders.
Any other questions?
