I have a Blue Snowball ICE, and was going to be grabbing another mic sometime in the future, though im not too sure as to which company i should go to. Blue is great, but i have heard that Shure is another one that produces high quality soundgin mics. Any input from you guys?

Some really popular and good companies for microphones are Shure, Blue, Audio Technica, and Rode. That's all I can think of at the top of my head!

But I highly suggest you to stick with your Blue Snowball, I'd only consider upgrading if the Snowball breaks or if you need a dynamic microphone. The Snowball is a condenser microphone so it will pick up all noises, which isn't bad unless if you have a lot of background noise.

I was thinking of a dynamic mic, something like the Shure SM-58, because it supposedly one of the best for voice. I still need to do plenty more research though. I have an issue with clipping, so i was hoping that i could possibly avoid that with the sm-58 while not needing to sacrifice volume or quality

I hear a lot of great stuff about the Shure SM-58, I think you can't go wrong with buying that. I have a dynamic microphone and it's very mediocre. It's the supplied microphone that they give you in the Guitar Hero set, it's underratingly good. It's not bad but it's not good either, it just gets the job done. I like using this instead of a Snowball because it won't pick up background noise.

My Dynamic mic is the Shure SM7B. Fantastic for anything in general especially singing. but you'll need to boost it by about 50db.

My Condenser mic is the Astatic CTM 1500VP absolute perfection for voice acting work if you ask me.

Had I the choice to switch mics for free as I've already got a $450 and $350 mics I'd honestly switch to Rode because I like what I see.
