It has been more than 20 years since MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries was released. Though two sequels of the same name had followed, I felt that they didn't really capture the finer details and free-form nature of running a mercenary company in the 31st century BattleTech universe.
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is the latest entry to this legendary and beloved franchise that has laid dormant for many years since the last Mercenaries game was released. I'm pleased to say that, in my books, this is the worthy successor to MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries which started it all back in 1996.

About the game:
The year is 3015. Humanity has colonized thousands of systems across a vast region of space splintered by centuries of conflict. The battlefields of the future are dominated by MechWarriors, elite pilots of hulking machines of war known as BattleMechs. It is a lucrative time to be a mercenary.
