EVE Online has often been described by some as a “game of spreadsheets”, and it’s not hard to understand why. The complex appearance of the UI, such as the regional market and manufacturing windows of this hardcore sandbox MMORPG, is enough to drive the trepid gamer away towards something less technical and intimidating.
But beneath the veneer of complexity and excessive number-crunching, much of the UI elements and deeper aspects of core gameplay are deceptively easy to get into, once you take a bit of time to figure out how it all works. From there, the game quickly opens up on an immense scale to those willing to delve deeper into its intricacies.
