How do you guys feel about the new YouTube Heroes system? Im not allowed to link the video but basically they want to make it so you can "Become a HERO" and mass report videos and stuff.
i made a video with my opinions on it but im not allowed to link it

few days ago, a lot of people made rant videos including me. It affects us smaller youtubers the most

you have to be 13 to be a "Hero" it will be :/ lets just hope they dont go through with this

It would be nice if YouTube released something helpful i mean at least it will clear some crap out of the comments.

The YouTube Heroes system is pure and simple censorship and WILL be abused, no question about it. You will have people flagging and reporting video because they don't like the youtuber or people not getting flags because they love that youtube. Just a ton of snitches or a hall monitor and false flags. Reminds me of Stasi a police organization relied very heavily on citizen informants who where basically rats, they got great power and they rated people out to be killed. Same concept here just people are not getting killed but getting their videos removed.

I really don't think it will be all that bad, at the moment videos can already be mass flagged fairly easily. I'm sure they would have an algorithm that checks the legitimate claims against others that are flagging. If someone flags a whole lot of videos that aren't spam then all of their claims will be dismissed.

They should really be more careful how they word there videos though...

There was a point in the term and conditions what caught my eye.
"Points you accrue can unlock certain perks" what does lead me to think that "some people" who have signed up to this will be trying to get to level 5 ASAP 1000 points and will abuse the system. It does say abuse the system loss in points but thinking they may not police that to hard or some will get missed.

Legal age in most country's are 18 or 21 depending on the country you are from.
So one good thing 10 years not going to be doing the flagging. But then again on the sign up page doesn`t ask for photocopy ID drivers license passport or other form ID so i guess that can be abused as well.
