Would appreciate some advice on a series

Afternoon All.

I started a series, 5 episodes in, of a space 4X series, Aurora to be specific. I spend a good part of yesterday recording to try to get ahead. I actually got more done then I thought, nearly 11 episodes in total [right at 5 1/4 hours of video]. This is a new game to me, and I was doing this series as a let's learn together after playing enough to get a feel.

When I went to render it and add in my entry and exit graphics for the video I discovered there was no audio. Some investigation revealed that my sound inputs had gone haywire and I got that fixed.

The problem I'm having is that many game play elements that I'd like to show, R&D - Ship building - and Jump mechanics that I'd have to voice over, which I'm not stellar at and would take another 5 1/2 hours to do.

My dilemma is this. Do I scrap this series, post an explanation short, close out the series and start entirely new. I'm leaning this way.

Or do an explanation video, try to cover as much of the elements missed as I can with explanations, instead of showing, and march on?

Being only 5 episodes starting over isn't a chore, and frankly I made a few early miss steps.

Any input from folks would be much appreciated as I'm still really new to this.

Thanks All!

Like you I have ran into problems where I have recorded videos and go back to find that there is no audio. While it was not fun to realize that all the work I had just put in was kind of a waste it was a good opportunity to go back and redo the videos to make them better any way that I possibly could.

If I were you I would redo the video since it is something that you seem to enjoy making and people new to the game would enjoy to watch. Also it gives you an opportunity to improve on the early mistakes that you said you have made.

Hope this helps!

ive been in the same situation. i went ahead and re did the videos that had no sound and actually made them better then they were the first time. so really its up to you if you want to redo them but just think what you could do to make them better
