Would a 5.7" HP Optical Drive work in other desktops?

Hey all,
I have taken out a HP 5.7" optical drive from my Pavilion P6-2200ea. (Out of use for upgrade)
I'm just wondering if it would work for other computers with the same SATA connection?

Typically if it has a Sata Connector, and a power connector, it'll work with any computer above 2003, anything before then... you'd have to get an older CD Drive.

But, incase you were wondering, most CD/DVD Drives now aday's have a standard 5.25" in size, so if your looking to put that into a new case... You may have to spend $20 and get a newer CD/DVD Drive.
