Windows VS. Linux

WINDOWS BY FAR. Windows 7 is my pic. Would never go with lunix for youtube. I wouldn't upgrade os, stay on win 7 while you can. In my opinion one of the best operating systems made (besides mac)
However if you want to produce good videos and have good multimedia tools then i'd go mac. I use final cut and blender. However if you dont want to pay for final cut and you dont want to use a mac there is a windows software suite called lightworks. Probably one of your best free options.
sorry for any spelling mistakes

Only some of them are there are LOTS of linux os's. Linux is pretty good. Open source software etc. But not as good as windows. Not even close.

Which OS Is Better right Now Im using Windows 7 But Is Linux Better?
I've had general experience with many Linux distro's and Window's OS's the way I see it is like this -

Linux
  1. Overall Performance in completing tasks, alot better than Window's, plus it's a lot smoother, and easier to run.
  2. Knowlege of Terminal Command Line, somewhat required for use, only when installing applications that aren't found in the software center(Most are listed there)
  3. When Vulkan API is available for linux, you can expect Gaming on Linux to be a huge thing, and it will possibly be on par with Windows, only downfall is the fact that adobe products aren't on linux, but alternatives are available.
  4. Recording can be a hassle without proper knowlege, and getting use to the switch takes more than a few days to get into things, so have spare time to get into it.
  5. Open source drivers are iffy, and I'd recommend using Close sourced drivers only.
Window's
  1. Easy to use for anyone, basic knowlege required, and no command line experience required to operate system.
  2. Do pretty much anything you want.
  3. A bit hard to maintain for those that aren't tech savy.

Overall... I'd recommend waiting on Linux a bit more until Vulkan comes out for it... but You can do pretty much anything on Windows, the only reason as to why I'd recommend switching to Linux is if you want a Free OS that is 95% Virus Proof, and 75% more Secure than Windows. But the downfall as to using Linux is this... If you don't know how to use the command line.. and want to be Secure.. I'd suggest installing a VPN, Anti Virus, and Turning your firewall on(Off by default on most FreeOS's)

Linux Distro's I'd Recommend To Newbie's -
  1. Ubuntu
  2. Linux Mint
Anything Else... Don't use unless you know how to use Terminal, or Code...

Also if your wondering what I use... I use Window's for Gaming, and Video Editing,

Linux I only use when I need to get my computer up and running fast, for a quick and secure project.. I am kinda skeptical about window's data logging, which is why I turned off all Window's communication to Microsoft's Server's except for window's updates.

Best Of Luck!
