What's up with the censorship lately?

I know nintendo did these since 90's (in SNES era most NA releases back then)..but based on the gaming news lately (from DoA3 incident to toning down bewbs in xenoblade chronicles X)Seen way too much of it from overly s**xualized character up to violence and gore gaming..and i'm start thinking "okay.. This is getting a bit ridiculous.."

PS: I am NOT trying to slap everyone in the face and shout "HA HA HA! No fanservice to youuuu~ "

here in japan, censorship here is quite the opposite of it..
~They banned mortal kombat 9/X

~in the super famicom version of MK2 fatality is in monochrome..

~psycho break (AKA "evil within".. No courpses sausages and the screen goes black when sebastian got killed.. Like decapitation, and stuff)

~until dawn (just like above) (but i kinda like the dub though..)

~MGSV torture scenes

But they cant even censored fanservices in the game like in any games i saw in my local gameshop recently..

What are your thoughts about this? I would like to know, and please lets keep it calm okay?

Well i'm glad here in The Netherlands nothing is censored. It would take away the full experience of certain games.

I can't imagine playing a game like Mortal Kombat with no blood or censored parts. Thank god we can just play it as it was meant to be.

Yeah, same case here.. It'll be way too totally wierd if Mortal kombat doesn't have blood and gore xD

If it may ever happen that one of the games i play is censored i think the disc would turn into a frisbee and gets a flying lesson straight out of the window....

I think these censor movements have become more active because games have become more popular and parents are afraid that their children will do things that they have seen in these games, even though if you educated your child right and talk with them this would never happen.

Thanks for the reply my friendo, also now that you mentioned it, Children mostly play from the likes of CoD or gtaV (well.. Based on most angry children who rages got viral'd on Youtube) and it's pretty hard for a parent to look after them and i feel sorry for the unfortunate parent though...

In my oppinion censorships is just silly, first of all its parents fault if theyr kids are going to be playing 18+ rated games... heck if theyr kids are smart enough they will find a patch online to play the game without censorship anyways (assuming we're talking about pc games).

Oh and.... Why censor something that is rated 18+ >_> thats taking adult content and making it rated for teens.... its kind of going against the whole idea of ratings to begin with.... either way, i've allways been against censorship and still stand to my belief that its silly.

Yeah, i really find it way too silly to begin with.. Especially children who eager to play a game with mature ratings.. (because children think if they play those games.. They thought they we're a real badass and those lovely stuff like that)Of course the blame will goes to the parent as well..

I often call this the era of complainers and professional victims. There is this large group of people who apparently are offended by anything and everything. A large part of it is due to radical feminists. They turned such a great movement into something that most people don't even want to talk about these days.

Now many games that happen to show a little skin gets attacked for objectifying women. Then they end up censoring it. Damn it, all the characters are objectified .. they are not freaking real, they all serve a specific purpose to be used by the person playing the game. Embrace human anatomy, I like the characters to look awesome. >.< If you can't handle it .. just don't play the game ... why ruin it for everyone else? Misery loves company I guess.

Yeah, it's pretty sad that we live in a world full of "oppresed" human being.. I really find it really ridiculous to begin with.. ever since they tried to promote censorship (based on alphaomegasin's video).. The only thing came out of my mind is "this is getting really ridiculous"..

Well NCsoft is not censoring Blade and Soul, except the cutscenes which is a shame, but atleast main content is not censored.

So atleast the game im looking forward to will not be turned into a censor fest xD

That's good to hear. I can overlook the cutscenes lol, though it would be better without censoring entirely. But all well.
