What do you think is more important to earn more revenue per month? Watch time or views?
Example:
Video A has 639,555 views with 32% audience retention
Video B has 1,637,945 views with 64% audience retention
But A is making more money and can grow your channel quicker.
Reason is that B has 5,403,862 minutes of watch time and A has 10,810,410 minutes of watch time.
A is a longer video that B.
Watch time helps with YouTube search ranking. So the more minutes you have on one single video the better chance it has to be at the top of the list. Sometime YouTube also does free promoting for that single video as well.
More watch time = higher CPM on that single video making you earn more money per thousand views.
I hope this tip helps out some of you guys that didn't know about this. The main goal is to focus more on making watchable content that will pull in your audience for longer on a single video. Watch Time is key!
