Using Negativity/Offensive/Unconstructive Comments/Feedback to Your Advantage?

Hi Peeps!

Just wondering, what people's opinions are on negativity i.e. slanderous comments towards your channel or Video(s) , now... I'm not asking due to receiving any but I was having a discussion earlier today - with regards to people in the media who often get negative comments towards them.... yes some may be true and some may not be and i'm sure everyone can think of some people/channel's that get alot of slander towards them...BUT THEN IT EXPANDS THEM! Get's them famous! Get's them in the media even more!

But I guess my question is.. IS THAT A BAD THING?....

I mean negative attention must be better than NO attention at all right?! - Don't get me wrong, we can filter out anything useful e.g. tips, feedback etc but if you had the choice for your video's and/or channel to be boosted in terms of popularity 100000% but 90% of that being offended,name called,slander - Would you take it?

Just wondering what people's take on that is.... me personally... not a fan - anything I can filter out and use to improve myself great, but I recon i'd rather stay low-key and just do what I do for the subscribers I have be it a small amount yes, but I think being in the right-manner counts for alot.

But! that's just my take on it, be interesting to hear what others think.

I feel that if there's hate in the comment, more people can jump in on the train. If you can ignore the haters, you can let them freely post. I'm more interested in building a community where people can feel safe, and not be attacked. My audience is on the younger side at times, and I'd rather keep it PG-13, without the cursing/

Sorry, perhaps I've come across in the wrong way haha - believe me i'm not planning on being negative or anything like that don't worry, lifes too short after all.

I think it's the realization that we kinda live in a world whereby negativity seems to be more broaden that anything - suppose you can just look at media in general and maybe even place blame onto, i mean i can't watch the news nowadays without hearing something bad or somesort, shame really

You didn't come across the wrong way, heh. I was offering insight what I typically do. I don't forsee you being negative

Negativity gets more responses. TotalBiscuit was inherently bad in this area, where he mostly confronted the people that were out to make him angry. It can be consuming depending on where your mind is at. Hopefully the future can change in that aspect ^^
