I have been on here for a little over a week now and still am a new member. Some people I have been talking to today are already members. Why is this when they just join today but I have been here for some time? Just curious how it works and what I need to do to move up.

Your status gets changed if you are active on the forums

I am it is that these people have maybe 7 messages and I was reading about 30 messages and you get a status change or something.

You become "Full member" if you get your messages count up to 30, you can allso become "Freedom partner" by applying for the badge, that is allso considered a full member
