Never shared this story with anyone but i gotta let it out ...
I grew up on a farm in the hills with my mother and sister since my father died when i was 4 years old due to diabetes - he had it since he was 9 yrs old - and i had it a little rough growing up as a boy without father ... always someone picking on me and bullying me because i don't have a father ... i cried a lot when i was a kid i admit it. I still miss him after all those years even tho i can't remember his face so clearly.
And now imagine running a big farm with mother and my sister. Luckily we had good neighbors that came to help when we were mowing the grass, clearing out the forest and so on.
I didn't have the time to play games nor did i have the time to learn - yes i may had bad grades through my school years but i have photographic memory which is kinda cool
- and than they were bullying me because of my grades, they thought i was dumb and stupid and "special". The truth was i didn't want to learn and didn't have the time for that.
We didn't had no internet the PC was a dream that it came true when i was in 7th grade of grammar school. Later on when i was in high school i got the old 56k internet ... damn thing was slow but i was happy that i'm "modern" and in time. Things were looking great in high school until the age of 19 when epilepsy hit me.
9 YEARS!!! 9 years of drugs treatment, A LOT of giving up ( social life, games, work etc ) and not to mention that the side effects of the drugs were bad.
I decided to change the type of games i was playing and focused more to puzzle solver, 2D platformer games to occupy my brains - i was and still am scared that i'll get a seizure.
After i discovered Youtube things changed a lot for me. I had a YouTube channel at first just to view and store my favorite videos and making myself a playlists.
But later on when i was watching Pewdiepie, Jacksepticeye, and other gaming channels i thought to myself - hey i can do that.
So i made myself a gaming channel that i have now - Game Gabe. I didn't start uploading right a way oh no! First came the research, what programs to use for recording, editing and making those epic thumbnails.
The beginning was rough i must say. I was uploading only one game until i rage quited, and start to focus on other games that i enjoy playing and that of course my computer can run and i can upload it later. Right now as i'm writing this i'm at 18 subscribers and i love them all - sure i don't get as many views as i want but it's a start. Later on i started to upload on schedule and started to upload at 60FPS if possible - yeah it takes some extra time to render the video bu it's worth it.
I wanted to do commentary but i decided not to just due to the fact that i'm not that kind of person that likes to talk but rather focuses on the game - i like to imagine that if someone is watching my video how would he/she react or comment on the video.
Stay safe and be good to each other.
