Dislikes get your video to show up higher in the search list or suggestions because of interactions so I would say its actually helping you, I got dislike-botted and it boosted my videos up the search list by so much so he's basically helping you get your videos more popular lol

You can always disable the like/dislike bar for a while. In the end dislikes still count towards your viewer engagement the same the likes do so it will help out your video ranking rather than be bad for it. Although I know it can be disheartening especially if you have a small channel.

Unfortunately if you spam you video asking for likes that may have the opposite effect so keep that in mind.

Another thing is having too much dislikes on your videos can drive YouTube to think you're dislike-botting yourself to get more engagements so your channel could get terminated so it's actually good that it was on one video

If you can't handle a bit of hate, you're not cut out for youtube. Feedback will always be mixed and there will always be haters. If someone is taking the time to grieve your channel, that's pretty flattering. My most successful video has over 1000 dislikes, but I shrug it off.

To be honest. You asked for it. Making video's of other people is bound to get you negative results.

Dislikes can be annoying at first, but I get random dislikes all the time on my channel. They don't reflect anything critical, it's been abused for a long time. I'd go onward, and ignore it for the time being ^^

YouTube views a dislike in the same light as a like, comment, and a share. It is all viewed as "community involvement". You are not penalized, but actually rewarded by YouTube for receiving a dislike, since it means someone took the time to click that button.

It's the discouragement that he wants, but he obviously doesn't understand he's helping.
