Resident evil 0 HD Remastered

Ok So im doing a Resident evil 0 HD Remastered Playthrough and i was wondering this: I recently came across an another shotgun in the game so im like yayy but here's my problem. Billy has the hunting gun and Rebecca only has a pistol. What should i do? Give Billy an upgrade or Give Rebecca Another Weapon to hold cause the shotgun holds 7 shots in it. Who should have the shotgun, Billy or Rebecca?

Rebecca clearly, you would always want to share weapons equally between the characters just incase they ever get split up, you don't want Rebecca to have to get by with just the pistol now do you?
