Hello,

I would like to have a supportive discussion when it comes to forum bans,

I would also like to forward an idea that if you break a rule in the chat, then the ban ONLY exists for CHAT and is not globalized, like it prohibits you from using the chat instead all the forum.

Because there's been numerous times where I wanted to reply on a thread, but couldn't since I was banned for something which happened in the chat.

I don't know, I think the chat is part of the forum but that's just my opinion.

It is part of the forum, but having globalized banned just because of what happened in the chat is kind of disalllows people from replying back to threads where they are part of + reply to people's PM's.

I don't mind having a generalised discussion about this.
We, as the forum team try to keep the forum safe no matter where it is.

Firstly, most chat rules that get broken is against the official rules anyway, which will result in a verbal warning, or a warning point, dependant on the situation and the necessary escalation.

From the Forum Official Rules:
I: Advertising
- Inappropriate Advertising
II: Spam
III: Members and accounts

- Inappropriate Content
- Inappropriate Behavior/Trolling
- Disclosure of Personal/ Private Information
- Illegal Activity:
- Sensitive Topics:
IV: Regarding Members and Staff

- Harassing of Members/Staff

All of which that was stated above is nearly the same to most of the reports that occur in the chat, so verbal warnings or warning points would be awarded either way.

Secondly, we can ban users from the chat permanently, but we only usually use this feature for necessary escalation, such as mass abuse or illegal activity etc..

Remember if you think any of the warning points that you have been given in the past should be disputed, you can talk to our administrators and they will only take action if it really is necessary.

To avoid getting into any trouble, either don't use the chat or refrain from using curse or abusive language to other users.
