Recently, I stopped using ZD Soft screen recorder because it's compression was killing me and the quality was suffering greatly, and because I decided to stop using that program, I've been in search for a better program. I came across three: Shadowplay, OBS, and Fraps. They all have their plus' and negatives. But, I seem to be having trouble with those as well. I'm not sure why I have been having so much trouble with them, so I have come to this forum to try to see if anyone could help me with my problem. Below I will leave my problem with each software and my specs.
Shadowplay records my gameplay fantastically, with little to no problems, but the problems are there. Sometimes it won't react to my hotkeys or also records a watermark that is on my desktop.
OBS is a program I know I have to play around a bit with but no matter what, my recording ends up being really choppy. The game itself will run fine while I record but the recording itself is very choppy.
I test fraps on OutLast with not problem. Game looked great. Video looked great. But as soon as I tried recording the indie game, Fingerbones. My framerate buckled when the game, that's not graphically challenging at all, added a little fog. I was recording at 30fps at fullsize.
Here's my specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 820 Processor
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
8 GB RAM
Windows 10
What's screwing me up? Before I upgraded my computer I never stumbled into the problems I started having.
