New phone out of storage, but the files don't add up

I recently bought a Huawei P10, and was recording videos today, and for some reason, my phone stopped recording my face because it was out of storage space. Well I'm looking at the Memory & Storage thing in the settings, but none of the stuff there even adds up to anywhere close to 32 GB. I checked all the files and folders, which don't even reach 100 MB.

I don't know what's going on, but it is interfering with my ability to add my face to my videos. I only have 5.8 GB available. Any ideas what is going on?

Either an app may be having a large memory leak or your phone's full of OS files which are often conveniently not shown anywhere.

Well, I don't know what I'm supposed to do about that.

Yeah, I believe an SD card was put inside, and the videos always go to the Camera folder inside the DCIM folder. But I always move the videos from there to my laptop afterwards.

Then get all files you need off the card and format it.

I don't know how to do that. Plus, how could there already be so many files causing this problem when I got this phone brand new? Not to mention, I rarely use my phone for anything besides recording my face.

I mean the SD card. Formatting is possible on literally any device, Google will be helpful for that

I actually just restarted my phone and now there is more space.

Sounds like a memory leak with cached files then.
