Hi Jetstream.
First and foremost; do not be disheartened. We have all experienced something like this in one way or another; myself included. If you let it get to you, you'll lose the drive, post less content and that will ultimately push your channel further into the ground. We all have to remember with so many of us making videos, Youtube is extremely diluted. This doesn't mean we have no hope, but rather the effort put in is now much greater if we want to get anything back.
I've had a little look over your channel and I have a couple of suggestions you may wish to look into;
- Change your banner/avatar.
- From what I can tell, you only have five Pokemon related videos (at least in a playlist), so you're more of a multi-game content channel. A banner focusing on a single game gives the impression your a single game focused channel. I learned this when I used to be a Minecraft only channel, but since slowly moving into a more Sandbox focused channel I had to change my Banner. I'm still looking for a new Avatar mind you. I appreciate artistic talent isn't something we all possess, myself included, but if you look at my banner, I simply took a nice looking screenshot (in-game) of something I built, added a white rectangle, changed it's opacity and then added some text over it. Simple, but I think it looks okay. I used The Gimp to achieve all of this.
- Make use of Playlists more and display them on your front page.
- At the moment your front page just displays a bunch of uploaded videos making it very hard for anyone to find the content they want to see. For instance I have a particular taste in Sandbox games and I had to scroll a considerable way down just to see you had a Minecraft video. If I missed this I would have discarded your channel as not being to my particular tastes. If you look at my channel you'll see my most popular playlists right on the front page.
- Join more communities.
- I use Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Player.me and Votable. I post every video I make to all of these platforms. Remember that even if you don't appear to get many results, like or comments on these platforms doesn't mean they're useless. All of these link backs to your channel will help with SEO. Remember to add the links to your channel banner links area.
- Don't ask people to Like/Sub at the beginning of the video
- I don't know if I like the video yet, It's only just started. In fact, blabbing on too much at the beginning will make people either skip forward in the video looking for the actual content they came for; or worse, click on another suggested video that isn't yours. Get to the action quicker, engage quicker, keep em' watching. Ask for the like/share at the end. If they didn't make it that far they probably didn't like the content anyway.
That's just a few things I've learned from personal experience. I hope some of it can help you out. If you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer if I can. Good luck with your Channel.
