Mass lag while recording...

Hey everyone, basically I'm having a huge lag issue when recording. It's making me unable to post on my channel. No matter what program I use, OBS, FRAPS, DXTORY, I'll go down to around 15 fps. Any game I try recording gets the exact same problem. I usually get frames around 100-300 on the games I'm recording. Hoping one of you can help me fix this! Thanks!

Is there any drivers you might have updated recently or installed any new programs? things as simple as a disk clean and a defrag can help with lag.

I personally would use a spare HD and install windows fresh, see if it's down to hardware or whatever is on your original HD.
And give the fans / heatsink a clean if they're clogged of dirt.

EDIT - It's good to make sure you've installed the graphics card correctly with the correct pins and not with a shared Power Rail. e.g. if it requires a 6pin and a 4 pin dont use a Splitter if you don't have a spare 6 pin as each power connector draws the right amount of power needed.

No, I'm going to get another hard drive, that will solely be dedicated to recording.[DOUBLEPOST=1452461822][/DOUBLEPOST]

I think I'm gonna try a clean install of Windows. I think doing this will be the best idea because it'll solve any other issues I may not know about. Thanks for the help!

So currently in your Computer right now how many HDD's do you have?

Im glad i could help and yeah a dedicated SSD (120gb) to dedicate recording on is what I did then eventually got a 500gb SSD for the main OS. once reinstalled and the drivers are on create a backup to a new partition.

The issue you will be facing is that the OS, The games and what you are recording is being done on one HDD and will cause issues :)
