Let's plays if I like the person, they're meant for subscriber videos. Montages if they're just a video to watch, I'd prefer something shorter.
I feel the same way! Now ive seen some lenghty Highlight videos before that had good commentary that i liked too!

Highlights. I just don't have time for full playthroughs. Plus, I honestly have more respect for creators that put time into editing. Pressing record, playing, then uploading just seems a bit lazy to me. It's like a livestream I can't interact with.

Highlights take a ton of effort, and understanding what is funny or not, is key. People typically avoid cutting up their work, because they feel like others are missing out on key parts. But as always, entertaining works best, and knowing what people like, works great too ^^

Effort is good, and it usually shows. Knowing when to cut corners is also important though, so you're not editing for 4 hours.

No doubt. Livestreaming is awesome to do early on, and to edit videos yourself, or have someone upload the highlights themselves. I honestly don't see why people can upload a 4 hour livestream when they're just starting out. Personal preference possibly, but minimizing videos can work since attention spans can be short at times.
